Maybe I say this every month but where on earth did this month go? Between this wild election season, midterms, and Thanksgiving break I think I blinked and November went by. Despite being incredibly busy as always, there’s been some new things I’ve been loving. Check out my November favorites below!
The Sisters Who Would be Queen: Mary, Katherine, and Lady Jane Grey: A Tudor Tragedy- by Leanda de Lisle
I actually started reading this book for a book report but as I love Tudor England history, I found the book more a leisure reading than anything. We all know Lady Jane Grey as the “Nine Days Queen” but I ended up writing on debunking the many popular misconceptions on her. Anyway, this book is an interesting look into a lesser known, but powerful, Tudor England family.
Zenni Optical Glasses:
Admittedly, I am sort of lazy when it comes to keeping up with eyewear. I really only wear glasses when I drive or sit in the back of class, so it’s never my first priority to get new ones from time to time. Zenni Optical is an online glasses retailer that sells the frame + lens for an insanely reasonable price. All I had to do was input my prescription metrics and pick out a frame! I’m loving these round tortoiseshell frames this month and beyond. The glasses themselves shipped surprisingly fast and are great quality. It’s a nice switch from the black glasses I’ve been wearing so definitely counts as one of my November favorites.
Garnier SkinActive Clean + Blackhead Eliminating Scrub
Honestly, I used to swear by the Neutrogena face wash as a holy grail product but after finding out it contained microbeads I started looking elsewhere. I’m minoring in public health and know how important it is we each do our part to help the environment, even if it’s switching face wash! This Garnier SkinActive with charcoal does a great job at exfoliating away the day’s wear on my face. This is designed particularly for oily skin, so I use it once a day to keep it from being too drying. However, it’s quickly become a staple in my face care routine.
I recently raved about my Colourpop order (see here) but Paradox especially stands out. I truly don’t own a single eyeshadow in that color and I’m in love with the unique consistency of the product. My go-to eyeshadow look this fall has been a golden smokey orange-y red with Paradox blending perfectly into the mix.
Sephora Collection Bronzer (Shade: Fiji):
Since we officially headed into the winter months, it’s always nice to try to retain some summer glow. I’ve been loving the Sephora Collection Bronzer lately just to warm up the face and give a little glow. Fiji has a little shimmer, but isn’t overly glittery and just a nice medium warm color!
Lovers Friends – Mowe and Daniel Nitt – Listen Here:
I recently came across this song on a random “chill” Spotify playlist and can’t stop jamming out to it. It totally reminds me of that lighthearted tropical house vibe. (Throwback to seeing Thomas Jack last winter!). I hadn’t heard of either of Mowe or Daniel Nitt so it’s always nice discovering totally new music.
Final Song- Mo – Listen Here:
Again, we can thank Spotify for this latest find. I’ve listened to the Danish singer quite a few times and she actually played live at my school ages ago, but I never heard this song until quite recently. Very catchy.
And thus concludes my November favorites! I’m looking forward to the holiday season of course because who doesn’t love the music, the food, and festivities. Plus my birthday is this month so I’m always an extra big fan of December!
